Περιγραφή

For nearly twenty years now, CJ Jeff has been an electronic music  superstar who has been championed by some of the most respected house  and techno labels around. Most recently, 8Bit, Objektivity, Kling  Klong and Yoshitoshi have released an array of his dance floor gems.  They always showcase the Greek artist’s idiosyncratic and carefully  constructed sound which takes dancers deep into his rolling,  percussive grooves. With more releases on the horizon on key labels,  CJ Jeff is as fresh and revenant now as he has ever been. Born and bred in Greece, and with influences ranging from Massive  Attack and Pink Floyd to Danny Tenaglia, Jeff soon developed his  trademark sound and has a suitably chic aesthetic to match. Having  worked closely with fellow Greek producer Thodoris Triantafillou,  Jeff’s output is never less than devastatingly effective when  experienced in a club environment. Early releases came on Souvenir and These Days, John Digweed’s  seminal Bedrock and Supernova’s Lapsus Music, with high profile  remixes for Booka Shade and the hit singles ‘Leave Me’ and ‘Guetto’—a  collaboration with Sharam Key—both proving to be some of the biggest  tunes of 2015. 2016 was similarly strong: ‘Not Only U’ produced with  Triantafillou and released on Objektivity was a Beatport smash, ‘Keep  Watching Me’ dropped on Glasgow Underground and there was also a nod  to the past with a superb remix of Eddie Amador’s classic ‘6am’ on  Yoshitoshi. 2017 kept Jeff in the spotlight with the super fresh  ‘Pure Happiness’ on elrow music and more on Nick Curly’s 8bit, Kling  Klong including a remix by Gorge, and an EP on Yoshitoshi featuring  an Audiojack remix. Always evolving his style but remaining true to his roots, 2018  started in fine fashion with ‘Tribe’, a big tune on Pirupa’s label  that got heavy support from tastemakers like Nic Fanciulli, Oxia and  Rafa Barios. Like all his releases to date, it climbed high in the  online charts and got played far and wide. This year Jeff has also  collaborated with the legendary Doc Martin on his own label  Rhythmetic, with yet more EPs line-up for big labels in the rest of  the year. Very early on in his career, Jeff started a residency at Dybbuk, a  weekly Thursday party which he still continues to this day, 13 years  later, making it one of the longest running in the world. It’s a  remarkable achievement for someone who is now an internationally  recognised name who plays many of the world’s best clubs, including  Spy Bar in Chicago, Watergate in Berlin, D. Edge, Beehive and  Warung in Brazil and the mighty fabric in London, while he also  recently debuted at Blue Marlin with Dennis Ferrer for his Misfits  Society night. On top of this, his appearance at the 2004 Olympics  Closing Ceremony in Athens remains one of the highlights of his DJ  Career. In addition to his continuous production and touring schedule, Jeff  has also runs his own vital label, Rhythmetic Records. Launched in  2005, it has gone on to release music from Nick Curly and No  Artificial Colours and often finds its releases charting highly at  Beatport and finding passionate support on the underground scene,  with Carl Cox championing them heavily during his final season at  Space, Ibiza. All this makes CJ Jeff a vital part of the global house  conversation.
